Lead Me to the Rock!

Psalms 61:1-3
1 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. KJV

It has only been a few days ago I wrote on Mountains and Valleys. This blog is being written from another one of those valleys. Yesterday was totally filled with wonderful ministry and positive relationships. It continued until after 2:00am. So much kindness and good will came from many directions and by different means.

Hos 10:12
12 Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will reap a crop of my love; plow the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower salvation upon you. TLB

The verse in Hosea seemed to be an apt description of the entire day. We were sowing simple good righteous seeds and there was an overflowing crop of love that both Sharon and I reaped all day long late into the night. There was a clear understanding that good things were just around the corner in many aspects. But, this morning I actually thought of a possible blog entitled something like, "Satan's Helpers". These are people who we may be related to or working with on the job or in ministry. They can be so negative! There seems to be a determination to make sure that others around them feel as badly as they do. If they are in pain they want you to feel the same pain. If they are sad you dare not smile or laugh in their presence. If they are depressed one dares not speak in an encouraging or positive manner.

I promised to be honest in the JPN Blogs and this is one of those days. Overwhelmed! The word seems to fit so well. Family, finances, illness and death. Wow! Those are issues that we all are faced with at some time in life and they come again and again showing up at times when we least expect it.

Aren't you glad that Jesus is our Rock. He is shelter that we can run to. Each day I read Psa 91 and ask God to hide us and to cover us with His wings. He promised to give His angels charge over us to keep us in "all our ways". Too many times I would not turn my circumstances over to God. Just think! His holy angels were probably standing nearby waiting for me to give up and to accept their help. Duh! After all these years as a Christian you would think I learned already.

Thanks for listening for these few minutes. I pray that God blesses you and yours and that you will not make the same mistakes as me trying to handle problems yourself. I also am not ashamed to ask for your prayers for us and Sharon as she travels to be with her parents. We have been gone so far away for so many years. May God bless their time together.

God bless you richly!
